Berlin at Christmas time

Hi there,

today I wanted to tell you something about the Christmas time here in Berlin. Well, generally Germany is famous for their Christmas markets, delicous cookies, sausages called Nürnberger and a sort of cake called Christstollen.
In Berlin you're having a bit of everything. It's worth a visit during that season because you'll see no other German city lighted like this. Many shopping streets here are having alot of Christmas lights, which you'll see on the pictures in this post. The most interesting street would be the so called "Ku'damm" (the original name is Kurfürstendamm). Besides of the Christmas lights, it's the most expensive shopping street in Berlin. You also have to try a "Hirtenbrot". It's a flatbread filled with meat, salat and zaziki. But you've to be careful with the size. I bought a big one recently and it's impossible to eat for a single person.

Another hotspot of Berlin is either in the Christmas time or other times the Potsdamer Platz in Tiergarten. You'll find a sweet Christmas market, a fun snow slide with rings, nice Christmas trees and the famous Sony Centre, which is the headquarter of Sony in Europe. Inside of the Sony Centre is a huge "The Hobbit" commercial and a stage covered with many lights. A show takes place there every hour for free. Here is a sneak peak of the show.

You can also walk to the Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate) to see the tallest Christmas tree of Berlin. It's donated every year by the Norwegian government.

Here are some pictures, that'll help you, to imagine how it is.

Have a great day,
